Dressing the Victorian Way

September 21, 2019 @ 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM

FREE

Presented by Denise Winter

Ever wonder how the ladies of the Victorian era (1837-1901) achieved those hour glass silhouettes? Or what it was like to wear a corset every day? Or why the ladies kept wearing them despite the discomfort? Get answers to these questions and more!

Join historical clothier and researcher Denise Winter, for an entertaining and educational lecture on the sociology of the corset and the fashions, under structure and customs of the era. There will be live demonstrations and skits and with some luck, a member of the audience will get to see how it feels to wear a corset!
